No contact with “confused” Oikya Front elected MPs

Jatiya Party leader Ghulam Quader said he is not surprised that the elected Members of Parliament (MPs) from Jatiya Oikya Front, specially those much talked-about MPs from Gono Forum sought to hold parleys regarding joining the parliament. “I am not expecting them to contact me, but I thought they might approach us as they will be seating in the opposition bench with us (Jatiya Party), if they at all decide to join the parliament,” Jatiya Party Co-Chairman GM Quader told DOT.
The two MPs elect Sultan Mohammad Monsur from Moulvibazar 2 constituency and Mokabbir Khan from Sylhet 2 constituency are confused, so is their alliance equally perplexed and puzzled having BNP as their political friend. It seems Oikya Front is losing its political momentum. The cohesion among political parties in the alliance is loosening, he remarked. The gap among the alliance members will further widen with the coming of the days. Wherever they go they will reach a dead end road, he observed. Cannot imagine how could Dr Kamal Hossain, a veteran politician and a lawyer be hoodwinked by BNP to have the dreaded Islamist Jamaat-e-Islami to participated in the election. When asked to describe the situation if the Gono Forum elected MPs join the opposition bench, the senior leader said that he would hail their decision to join the parliament. It would surely increase the number of opposition strength. But, he said would he is skeptic about their role in the parliament. Obviously they would be outspoken and also a bitter critic of the government. Simultaneously theu would be reactive to our pro-active role in the parliament. Boycotting the parliament will not be a solution to the political crisis, BNP is planning to cook. Look at their human chain protest wearing black badge in front of the National Press Club. Majority of their senior leaders of alliance including BNP were conspiculously absent in the first ever rally on Wednesday. “The first protest rally was a flop. Let us wait for more surprises to come from the alliance,” he quipped.
