Prof. Anu Muhammad, member secretary of the National Committee to Protect Oil, Gas and Mineral Resources, Power and Ports, said that, the government must demand 20 thousand crores taka compensation from NIKO. He argues that, there were bigger loss of gas than it was reporter. Proper investigation can prove that the compensation amount would increase by 250 times more. There is still time for the government for re-estimating losses and demand accordingly. In the meantime the court bench of Judge Naeema Haider & Judge Abu Taher, announced the verdict on Thursday. That allows the government to seize any belongings of Canadian NIKO Company. It also denounced the deal between NIKO and BUPEX & Petro Bangla. This greatly works to the advantage of the government, he also mentioned.
