Mahbub Alaam Babu (Cumilla) : On 12/05/2024 Mr. Saif Uddin Ahmed, Additional Secretary to the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh joined as the newly appointed Director General of Bangladesh Rural Development Academy (BARD). Prior to joining BARD, he served as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Labor and Employment.
He joined civil service in 1995 through 15th BCS. During his career, he has held important positions in various ministries including Ministry of Public Administration, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture, Local Government, Ministry of Rural Development and Cooperatives, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Planning. He obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Department of Economics, Jahangirnagar University.
Later, he obtained a master’s degree in environmental management from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand. He visited more than 20 countries including France, Australia, United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, Philippines, Indonesia, Italy, Germany and India to attend various professional trainings, seminars and meetings.
