BSS, Dhaka
A new cultural alliance of 36 organizations has been formed being inspired with the ideals of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The announcement of forming ‘Bangali Sangskritik Jote’ was made at a press conference at the National Press Club on Friday. Jote Convener Saiful Azam Bashar, in a written speech, described the background and necessity of forming the cultural alliance.
He said Bangabandhu’s expected ‘Sonar Bangla’ could be built by establishing a close of indigenous culture with politics. The reactionary, fundamentalist and militant groups are still big threats to the country’s culture, he said and called for a greater cultural movement to resist those forces. Bashar said from this viewpoint, 36 pro-liberation cultural groups have been brought on a single platform named ‘Bangali Sangskritik Jote’.
