Schoolboy’s death in Naogaon road crash sparks protests

Local people blocked road and staged demonstrations on Dhamairhat-Joypurhat road at Chakmoyram in Dhamairhat upazila protesting the death of a schoolboy in a road accident here on Saturday morning. Yasir Arafat Swadhin, 12, son of Tuku Hossain of Pharshipara village of the upazila and a class VI student of Chakmoyram High School, was killed when a stone-laden truck hit his bi-cycle on Dhamairhat-Joypurhat road around 9am while he was returning home, said Shikder Mohammad Moshiur Rahman, officer-in-charge of the Dhamairhat Police Station.
