DOT Desk: Sumon Shikder Musa, a key suspect in the double murder of Dhaka Awami League leader Jahidul Islam Tipu and college student Prity, and the other arrested accused will be interrogated face-to-face, detectives said, reports The Daily Star’.
“We will send Musa, who was brought back home from Oman yesterday, to the court today with a 15-day remand prayer. We will also pray for fresh remand for other 12 accused by phases,” AKM Hafiz Akhter, additional commissioner of (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, said.
“Musa was named as key coordinator of the Tipu murder in the statement of ‘shooter’ Akash. Musa’s deportation is a vital development in the case. So, we need to interrogated them face-to-face,” he added. Asked about it, the DB official said they will take her statement into consideration during investigation.
In the briefing at DMP media centre, Hafiz Akhter said Musa left the country on March 12, nearly two weeks before the killing of Tipu, and college student Samia Afran Jamal Prity in Dhaka’s Shahjahanpur area on March 24. Police informed interpole about him after the killings, leading to his arrest in Oman.
