Professor Muntassir Mamoon regretted the lack of research on father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The prominent historian said: “It is a matter of great disappointment that even universities are not promoting researches on Bangabandhu.” He was addressing at a reception program organized by Swadheenatar Muldhara Sangbadik Samaj, an organization of journalists, at national press club yesterday morning, to honor him along with veteran artist Hashem Khan for their contributions. Press club president Muhammad Shafiqur Rahman presided over the programme. In his speech, Muntassir Mamoon emphasized on the unity of the pro-liberation forces in order to realize the goals that the Bengali envisaged through the bloodstained struggle. Talking about himself, the noted intellectual said “I have been writing for more than 50 years now. But for whom I am writing? – For the young people, and their rights. Throughout the life, I devoted myself for them.” He also said “As a writer it’s my ethical responsibility to stand against all evils.”
