Abrar Hussain: The physical condition of 12-year-old Muktamoni, who was diagnosed with a tumor in her hand in August 2017, has been declared critical, as reported by The Daily Star.
Muktamoni’s father Ibrahim Hossain, a grocery shop owner of Kamarbaisa village in Sadar upazila of Satkhira, said, “The infection in her hand has spread all over. Bad odor comes out from her hand when the bandage is pulled off for dressing.”
“Severe bleeding occurs when dressing is done,” said her father.“Muktamoni’s right hand has completely been decomposed,” said her father, adding, “We have decomposed,” said her father, adding, “We have left all hope. Now only Allah can save her.”
He also said they have discussed her condition with Dr Samanta Lal Sen, Coordinator of Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
“Seeing the photos of her hand, the doctor said her condition critical,” he added.
Muktamoni drew the nation’s attention with her unusual medical condition.
On August 12, doctors at DMCH removed a three-kilogram tumor from her arm after a biopsy showed a growth in the artery of her hand.
She later underwent three more consecutive surgeries on her right arm on August 29, September 5, and October 8.
