Rodrigo Duterte, the Philippine President-Elect, has announced that given a citizen kills a drug dealer, he/she will be rewarded with a medal. He said this at his presidential victory late on Saturday in the southern city of Davao that fellow Filipinos were free to take the law in their own hands, reports The Guardian.
He stated “Please feel free to call us, the police, or do it yourself if you have the gun, you have my support”, reports Sky News.
He went on further and stated that any criminal who resisted arrest or threatened someone with a gun or knife is to be killed with impunity and a medal would be awarded to the assassin.
