Authorities are losing the grip on keeping the prices of meats & fish under control. Even though most goods, including fishes are being imported daily. Also, vegetable prices have not gone down, but are high since the beginning of the Ramadan.
Though City Corporation set the prices for meats considering higher demands during Ramadan. Unfortunately, it has become totally invalid to the sellers. Average prices for Beef 510 taka and livers 550 taka. Though when media cameras approach to the butcheries, they claim they are selling at 475 taka rate.
Buyers are also getting shocked and depressed at the fish markets. From Ilish-Rui to Koi-Kachki, all of the fish prices are all-time high.
Vegetables’ average prices are also disturbingly high. Cucumber at 40 taka, Egg-plant at 80 taka and Tomato at 100 taka.
Customers are urging to the market inspectors and authorities to take some legit actions.
