Celebrated musician Krishnokoli Islam’s husband, Khalequr Rahman Arko was taken into remand for 2 days in relation with the death of their housemaid Jannat Akter Shilpi (15).

Officers of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station presented Khalequr to the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Thursday and requested to take him in remand for 5 days. Magistrate Nuru Mia granted them permission to take him in for a 2-day remand after the hearing.

Acting Officer in Charge of the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station informed, “I suspected Khalequr Rahman when I questioned him after the death of their housemaid. The things he said and his behaviour were suspicious. Besides, there were marks of fingernail scratches on his face. Therefore he was arrested according to the section 54 of the Criminal Procedure Code.”
