A Dhaka court has expressed its resentment on BNP chief Khaleda Zia and her lawyer as her late arrival delayed yesterday’s pre-scheduled hearing in the Zia Orphanage Trust case for nearly one hour and a half hour.According to the court sources, the defence lawyers were supposed to start placing closing argument in the graft case against Khaleda and five others, around 10:30am, reports the Dhaka Tribune.But, the BNP chairperson reached at the courtroom at 11:58am, leaving the court to wait for starting the hearing for almost 90 minutes.Irritated by the matter, Judge Md Akhtaruzzaman of Dhaka Special Judge’s Court 5 at Bakshibazar area of Old Dhaka told her lawyers that a court cannot run in such a way.“The clock has struck 12 noon now. How does a court function this way?” the judge asked her lawyers soon after her appearance the court. “I can come to court at 9:30am, but you cannot. The court will start the case proceedings at 10:30am from tomorrow (Thursday),” he warned the defence counsels.
