Sayeed Muhammad: The producers of poultry and fish feeds will have to use jute bags for packaging their products from now on as the government made it obligatory for them to follow. The Textiles and Jute Ministry recently issued a notification in this regard, said an official release yesterday, reports UNB.
“The government made the use of jute bags mandatory for preserving and transporting the of poultry and fish feeds by amending further the Jute Packaging Rules-2013 exercising its power given in the article 22 of the Mandatory Jute Packaging Act, 2010,” the release said.
With the fresh two products, the government made mandatory the use of jute bags for packaging 19 items. In 2010, the government had passed a law making jute packaging mandatory for certain percentage of food items and fertilizer.
The government formulated Jute Packaging Rules there years later to implement the law.
