Journos give 72hrs to govt for arresting attackers

M Humayun Kabir: Journalists yesterday gave a 72-hour ultimatum to the government for arresting those involved in attack on working journalists during the ongoing student movement demanding safe roads.
The journalists issued the ultimatum from a human chain at Saarc Fountain in Karwan Bazar area yesterday, reports UNB.
If their demand is not met within the stipulated time, they will launch tougher programmes, the journalists threatened.
Demanding the arrest by analysing video footages, the journalists said, “It’s not difficult to arrest the attackers as there are video footages.
Meanwhile, hundreds of photojournalists and journalists formed a human chain in front of Jatiya Press Club protesting the attacks on them during the protest.
Photojournalists from all news media and even freelancers joined the 30-minute human chain from 11:00am. Bangladesh Photojournalist Association organised the programme.
