A female teacher of Jagannath University (JnU) has been relieved of her duties for indulging in negligence and irregularities during an admission test for the 2018-2019 session held on September 29. University administration has also issued a showcause notice to the teacher, Dr Ferdousi Khatun, associate professor of Bangla department of the university.
Sources said Ferdousi Khatun was performing her duties at room no 333 of Bangla Department of the university during this year’s ‘Ka’ unit admission test.
Twenty minutes after the exam ended, she went out the room along with question papers and answer scripts without informing other teachers on duty.
Later, duty teachers intercepted her while she was getting down the stairs and asked her to show the grounds and put forward a written complaint to the university administration.
JnU registrar Eng Ohiduzzaman said Ferdousi Khatun was relieved and issued the showcause notice after getting a written complaint against the teacher.
Contacted, Ferdousi Khatun denied receiving any notices from the university administration.
