Ameer of Mithapukur upazila unit of Jamaat-e-Islami and suspended Mithapukur upazila chairman Golam Rabbani was arrested from the gate of Rangpur Central Jail here on Thursday morning.
A joint team of the Detective Branch of District Police and Mithapukur Thana Police arrested Golam Rabbani from the jail gate at around 9.30 am soon after his release on bail. The arrested Jamaat leader was undergoing primary interrogation at the DB Police Office in the city till filing of this report at 2.15 pm today, police sources said.
