BSS: State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Fazilatun Nessa Indira yesterday called upon the field administration officials to work for raising consciousness among people in preventing violence on women and children, dowry and child marriage.
She was addressing as the chief guest the ‘Joyeeta’ (victorious women) award giving ceremony for Chattogram and Sylhet divisions joining it virtually from the conference room of Department of Women Affairs at Eskaton in the city.
Five women from Chattogram division and five from Sylhet division won the award.
The state minister said as per the announcement of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina the country will turn into a Smart Bangladesh by 2041 with the proper implementation of government works by field administration.
Indira said the participation of women in all sectors of development including public and private services and self-employment has increased massively due to adoption and implementation of women friendly development policy by the government in the last one era.
She said the premier introduced Joyeeta programme in 2011 for accelerating the economic and social development of women.
