Independent and courageous women are driving scooters, cars and heavy vehicles effortlessly. Bitasta Ahmed a women who drives her scooter around the capital. Farewell to the sufferings of mass transport she has been driving her scooter without any hesitation from one point to another. She said “It is a better option to travel and it also saves a lot of money.” Another courageous woman Naznin Prioty who is a housewife has been driving for 10 years now on the capital’s road. At first she started as a hobby and then it became a daily essential activity for her. She drives her children to school, drives to the grocery market and drives wherever she needs to go. She said “People like rickshaw drivers and auto-rickshaw drivers tease me while I am driving, but the traffic police encourage me most of the time.” She also said, “I look around to see if there are any other women driving because I want to see more women driving their own cars like me.” A driver of Bangladesh Postal Department Sofia Khatun has achieved her dream and converted her passion for driving into a profession. She said “My husband supports me for what I do.” She also said, “I have to drive all around the capital and outside Dhaka as well.”
