GILOC:
We know it was the air force who run many of the most interesting studies into near death and out of body experiences. Over the last 20 years, pilots kept flying themselves into GILOC (Gravity Induced Loss of Consciousness) as airplanes got faster because of technology and found the airplanes crushed. James Winney is the guy who came up to solve this problem. In Texas he spun 1,000 pilots in a giant centrifuge into GILOC and noticed something interesting. While in GILOC you pass out and your vision forms into a tunnel and it looks like an old television set turning off where it goes down into one point and vanishes. So like classic near death phenomena it gives you the feeling that you are walking down a long dark tunnel. During the several experiments he noticed that the longer he spun the pilots towards the GILOC, the more out of body experiences they shared.
An Exciting Experiment:
It would turn into a near death experience if he kept spinning them after they were quite out of their body. So these two things are actually on the same continuum and the US Air force discovered that. Out of body and near death experiences are parts of the same chain of effect. So there are many things and mysteries going on and a lot of it has to do with the right temporal lobe. For example we have got many near death experiences and people reporting things that they shouldn’t have been capable of knowing at that time as they were supposedly dead. There had been people who died on the operating table in research studies and they were brought back, they came back. While they were dead and having near death experiences the nurse would take off their glasses and put them in a drawer and later when everybody came back and looking for their glasses, the person on the operating table, the patient would point the glasses out saying they were in the bottom drawer. This experiment was done by Pim Van Lommel in Netherlands. This is just one of the examples of the experiments done and the results that came out. So although we don’t know about it yet, somewhere along the line information is getting through. This might still be a mystery but there are also a lot of other stuffs whose biology we know about now.
