Shawkatul Islam from Islami Andolan are candidates, but in the 12th parliamentary elections Bir Bahadur Ushaisingh from Awami League, Jatiya Party candidate A.T.M. . Shahidul Islam (Bablu) and independent candidates have become Manggoye Pru. As a result, the voters are considering Bir Bahadur as a tension-free candidate as the heavyweight candidate Bir Bahadur of Awami League does not have a strong opponent. Shahidul Islam (Bablu) is considered as one of the contenders but he is not well known to the voters. He is serving as the general secretary of Lamar organizational district of Jatiya Party and resides in Nunar Bill area of the upazila.
Amir Hossain, a resident of Faitong area of Lama Upazila of the district, said that although Jatiya Party candidate is a resident of Lama Upazila, the voters do not know him much, I am not talking about the voters of the other 6 upazilas, so there is nothing for the Awami League candidate to be tensed about the election.
