Ports of Chittagong Seaport & private depos are unable to unload their bulk open goods & whole-foods because of heavy rainfall. Goods are high risk of getting spoiled soon. Agitated exporter-businessmen are irritated about the lack of proper facilities & sheds. Port authorities were able to unload containers from the other ships. But the 3 bulk-goods carrying ships are docked idly and unable to unload 1.5 lacs tons worth exported goods. These include wide range things such as, coal, fuel, oil, cement, unrefined-sugar, fertilizer, bitumen, motors, lentils, rice, wheat & many other whole-food products. Port Employee Jafar Alam agreed of, authorities knowing about the shed situation. But it is impossible to add more upon sudden client demand. He assured that, goods in the sheds are fine and being handled regularly & carefully.
