DOT Desk: Health Minister Dr Samanta Lal Sen has said all preparations for dengue treatment have been made in hospitals, and more initiatives will be taken as the dengue season begins, reports Dhaka Tribune.
The minister was speaking at a press conference on Sunday organized in the ministry meeting room at the Secretariat on his Geneva and London visit. He said the ministries and departments concerned and city corporations should cooperate to control the spread of dengue. An inter-ministerial meeting in this regard will be organized soon.
The health minister said dengue spread must be prevented collectively. “The preparation of the ministry is sufficient. However, if Aedes mosquito breeding is not prevented, no medical preparations will be of any use.” He said the ministry’s crackdown on illegal clinics and hospitals has not stopped but is only suspended for now. “We have given them some time because all clinics cannot be closed at once.”
“I will start this campaign again… We will never tolerate illegal clinics. I am not under any pressure about it,” he added.
