 Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md. Shafiqul Islam urged not to arrange any kind of procession celebrating Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of Hindus, reports barta24.com.
 He also gave five instructions on behalf of the DMP, noting that other religious ceremonies can be observed in complia and government guidelines to prevent the spread and spread of coronavirus, reports Jago News.
He made the remarks at a coordination meeting on security, law and order and traffic management in the Dhaka metropolitan area yesterday at 11am at the DMP headquarters to mark the autumn Durga Puja.
The DMP commissioner said, “Due to the corona situation, various national level events are being held in short form. Do not allow anyone to enter the venue without a mask. The visitors should enter the puja mandap in a short range following the hygiene rules.”
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Md. Abu Maruf Hossain said, “Coronavirus is still uncontrolled. Effective vaccines have not been discovered. In the second phase, the number of new cases of corona is increasing in many countries of the world. This is a concern for everyone. In such a situation, there is no alternative to being aware of personal safety and well-being.”
