DOT Desk: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir yesterday said that the government and ruling Awami League have to take responsibility for the consequence of carrying out repression against the opposition party, reports Daily Sun.
Mirza Fakhrul said, “We hope, good sense will prevail among the government and they will arrange polls under neutral government after resignation.”
The BNP leader came up with the statement while addressing a press conference at the party central office in Nayapaltan of the capital yesterday morning.
He said, ahead of the October 28 rally, police are conducting raid at the houses of opposition leaders and activists. So far, a number of BNP leaders and activists have been arrested by police.
Mentioning that they will hold their today’s rally in Nayapaltan, he called the countrymen to join the rally.
Mirza Fakhrul said, the US physicians have done successful hepatic operation of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Thursday evening.
