Complaints & cases against the police officers have been piling up all over the country. Experts blame the political situation.

Flower Businessman Ismail Hossen was arrested from his house on last 8 June. Later, Awami League leader Selim Mandal shot him dead during an argument, in the presence of a Savar polce-officer. Later, Ismail’s family filed a case seeking judgement. But the local political leader pulled the strings and SI Tarqul Islam & 2 other police were accused for the murder.

Such despicable cases against the police officers have been piling up on daily basis. About 7 thousand of such were filed in past 5 years. Countless accusations came about police extorting money from the general public threatening of crossfire or false-charging of involvement with the drug cartel.

Though, Police HQ announced, no crime or breaking of law even by a police-officer have not been tolerated. About a thousand officers get punished each month, informed a high-ranking personnel of Police.
