Maj Gen (retd) AK Mohammad Ali Shikder, Security and International Relations Analyst : A complex situation has emerged in the politics of Bangladesh. The way politics is practiced in our country is seen nowhere in the world. There will be oppositions in a country besides the partisan government. But none of these have ever caused division in the basic ideology of the state.
We have freed the country and established its basic ideology in exchange of millions of martyr’s blood with Pakistan. But that ideology was broken by two military rulers after 1975. Since then, there has been a major split in the name of the Liberation War. As long as this division cannot be omitted, we will not be able to experience the politics we expect.
Those who moved far away from the ideology of the liberation war, are must to return to the spirit and this is because the people of Bangladesh will never compromise with it. There will be the partisan and the opposition party, but both will stand for our liberation war. Only then the fear of conflict in politics and election in which we are living in today, shall eliminate. One thing to keep in mind is that our political issues need to be resolved at the first place. Only then the electoral problems will be solved.
We need to stand for our country cordially and with sincerity. Anti-liberation forces in any ways shall not be given space. There will be no problems if only we can work together.
