Susan Anderson, Philadelphia/ Seven Billion Today
I HATE FACEBOOK, and the latest news that 50 million (yes thats right, 50 million) accounts have been hacked has not shocked me.
There was apparently a security flaw which left around 50 million users exposed. Although the firms Head of Security, Guy Rosen, has announced the flaw has been fixed, I still expect the aftermath will be felt.
I saw on BBC News that he said the following:”Since we’ve only just started our investigation, we have yet to determine whether these accounts were misused or any information accessed. We also don’t know who’s behind these attacks or where they’re based. “ He added: “People’s privacy and security is incredibly important, and we’re sorry this happened.”
You would think that the biggest social network IN THE WORLD and one of the most used websites (IF NOT…….. **THE** most used) website in the world would have an up to date, unbreakable security system to stop hackers in their tracks.
Maybe this will inspire people to steer away from Facebook, and spend their online surfing in a more pro-active and beneficial way.
RIP FACEBOOK!
