Ex-bureaucrat Solaiman Chowdhury resigns from Jamaat

Jamaat-e-Islami leader AFM Solaiman Chowdhury, who retired as a government secretary, stepped down from the party, reports Bangla Tribune.
Citing personal reasons, he sent his resignation letter to Jamaat Amir Dr Shafiqur Rahman yesterday.
According to sources close to the Jamaat leader, Solaiman Chwodhury took part in a programme organised by banished Jamaat leader Mujibur Rahman Manju on December 3, after which he was called in by the top leadership.
Responding to queries on whether he was joining Mujibur Rahman’s party, Chowdhury said, ”I can’t say anything about it now. You’ll know in good time.”
