Eat Your Way to Flawless Skin

We definitely love spoiling ourselves with masks and lotions that promise to deliver high levels of skin amazing-ness, but let’s face it, there is only so much they can do if we don’t take care of our bodies from the inside as well. What does that mean? It means we need to incorporate our meals such that they contain as many naturally skin-boosting elements as possible. Read on for the top four, easily available foods you NEED to add to your diet to get that natural radiance and glow you’ve dreamt of (or layered on highlighters to achieve).
Yogurt: Rich in riboflavin, vitamin B6, vitamin B12 and protein, a daily serving of the plain, unflavored variety will detoxify your skin. In other words, greek yogurt will turn you into a greek goddess. If acne is a frequent guest on your skin, you could consider adding some anti-bacterial Manuka Honey to your yogurt.
Tomatoes: These babes help shield against sun damage and aging skin. Lycopene, the photochemical in tomatoes, increases the skin’s sun protection and reduces damage from exposure. However, tomato has to be cooked for the antioxidant boost.
Nuts: All hail nuts when it comes to containing big dosages of Vitamin E, antioxidants, omega-3 fats and zinc. All these combined amps up your collagen levels, keeping your skin hella taut! They also protect the skin against cell damage AND are high in fibre. Gimme those nuts!
Tea: NO NO NO not the “tong er amazing cha”. I know how much you must love that milk tea but you need to give that up. Opt for any type of milk-less tea. While there are loads of ‘miracle’ teas putting up promises of weight loss and glowing skin, green teas are the ones that actually work. Peppermint tea is a sweetheart to the skin as well.
