A daylong ‘Career Festival and Research Fair’ organized by the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences, (FEES) Dhaka University was held on Tuesday at TSC premises. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the day-long festival as the chief guest.
Dean of the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences Prof. Dr. Md. Zillur Rahman presided over the inaugural ceremony, Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Samad, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Prof. Dr ASM Maksud Kamal and Treasurer Professor Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed spoke as special guests.
Member Secretary of the Organizing Committee and Chairman of the Department of Oceanography Dr. KM Azam Chowdhury also spoke on the occasion.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman emphasized on conducting up-to-date education and conducting practical research according to the needs of the nation and said that the opportunities of the Fourth Industrial Revolution should be properly utilized.
To this end, we need to build skilled human resources. He called upon the teachers and researchers of the university to play an effective role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
He emphasized on strengthening the relationship between educational institutions and industrial establishments in creating employment, socio-economic development and improving the quality of research in the country.
It is to be noted that various governmental and non-governmental organizations of the country participate in this day-long Career Festival and Research Fair.
