Lack of playgrounds & open spaces attract the youths toward drug abuses, claimed Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) GD Md. Jamal Uddin Ahmed. Therefore, he proposed the Ministry of Education to keep the playgrounds of schools & colleges open during the day time, on 7 September. Authorities agreed. General DNC survey showed that, major percentage of 50 lacs of drug addicts in Bangladesh, are students. Though, most are college & university students. About all of their ties with drug starts from the school-life; by trying things out of boredom. Thus, DNC required all the educational institutes for having open fields during daytime. Also, requested to add more interactive items in the playgrounds.
