Hossen Sohel: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia declared traffic week throughout the country from today.
Thanking the students for their initiative to maintain and regulating traffic rules, DMP chief said that from today traffic week will begin and requested the students to go back to their studies.
“From now on police will maintain all the traffic rules strictly, so now I urge the students to go back to their schools,” he said.
Police are discharging their duties with sincerity despite attacks on police personnel during the ongoing student protest, he said.

The protesting students are using vulgar language in placards and slogans and spreading false information on social media and attacking police personnel, the DMP commissioner said.

People from vested quarters are infiltrating the students’ protest to carry out such attacks on police institutions to divert the movement, he said.

“But even amid such instigation, police are performing their duties and responsibilities peacefully with sincerity,” he added.
