Deputy Commissioner of Bandarban district Shah Mojahid Uddin visited the Ghumdhum border area of Naikxyongchari upazila affected by the conflict between the Junta forces and the armed group Arakan Army inside Myanmar. He urged the residents of the border areas to take shelter in shelters and gave cash to the affected people. Saikat Shaheen, Superintendent of Police, Bandarban was also present during the visit.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shah Mujahid Uddin has ordered to evacuate 240 families of Bandarban’s Naikshyongchari border to safe shelter. The DC gave this order during the inspection of the Naikshyongchari border on Tuesday, February 6. He said that the conflict is going on inside Myanmar on the Bandarban-Myanmar border. Due to this situation, instructions have been given to take the students and the residents of the most vulnerable areas of the border (240 families) to safe shelter. At the same time, schools along the border have been asked to remain closed until the situation normalizes. Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police visited Ghumdhum and Tumbru border of Bandarban.
In the afternoon they visited the Tumbru border point of Naikshyongchari and went to Ghumdhum Union Parishad. After discussion with the local administration, they went to Jalpaitli area. DC spoke to the family of Hosne Ara, who was killed by a mortar shell fired by Myanmar. Along with this, the administration gave 20,000 taka compensation to Hosne Ara’s family. After the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner spoke to the journalists about the overall situation.
