International War Crimes Mass Trial Committee (IWCMTC) today raised a demand for declaring “March 25” as the “International Genocide Day”.
Committee convener and Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan today raised the demand at a press briefing at Segunbagicha in the city. “There should be a day fixed as a sign of protest against devilishness like genocide. It is needed not only for Bangladesh, but also for a civilized global society and for the sake of advancement of world humanity,” said the minister. Senior journalist Abed Khan, Freedom Fighter Mahbub Uddin Ahammed, Bir Bikram, vice chairman of Muktijoddha Sangsad Ismat Kadir Gama and Sonali Bank Employees’ Union president Jamal Uddin were present on the occasion, among others.
