Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Thursday said Bangladesh has already formed counter terrorism and cyber crime units aimed at curbing terrorism and preventing cyber crimes. “We need necessary training to make the concerned security personnel more efficient,” he told newsmen after a meeting with a delegation of the United States at the ministry’s conference room.
A 14-member delegation including the US Department of State Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights Sarah Sewall, the US Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary for International Affairs Alan Bersin and the US Ambassador in Dhaka Marcia S Bernicat joined the meeting. “The counter terrorism and cyber crime units are new units, so we need necessary cooperation for sharing ideas to strengthen its activities for curbing crimes,” the minister told the delegation.
