Kabir Humayun: Three people, including an on-duty traffic policeman, were killed in road crashes in Chattogram and Magura yesterday.
In Chattogram, Aman Ullah, 52, a traffic constable, was run over by a bus near Foy’s Lake gate in city Sunday night, reports UNB.
Jahirul Islam Bhuiyan, officer-in-charge of Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMHC) police camp said a ‘Shyamoli Paribahan’ bus hit Aman when he was discharging his duty around 9:00pm.
Locals rushed him to the hospital where he died.
In Magura, a motorcyclist and his pillion were crushed under a covered van on Dhaka-Khulna highway in Magura town’s Shahartali area yesterday morning.
The victims are LabhluTalukder, 38, and his brother-in-law Niamul Islam, 25.
The incident took place around 7:00am when the two were on their way to Sripur upazila, said Magura Sadar Police Station Sub-Inspector Abdul Momin.
Both of them died on the spot, he added.
