Though, computer education or ICT had been made a mandatory subject for the school-colleges. Unfortunately, there is a huge national lacking of skilled & proper ICT teachers. Education institutes often hiring temporary teachers to meet institutional requirement. But, they are not fulfilling their duties sincerely or responsibly. Thus, students are becoming more reliant on coaching centers & private tuitions. There was an initiation from the Ministry of Education, for appointing 486 ICT teachers in 333 public schools, in 2012.Appointment of 2 teachers for 153 double-shift and 1 teacher for 180 single-shift schools. But, the project files got stuck in the processing on that same year. After, making ICT a mandatory educational subject. The government donated laptop & other technological equipment for multimedia classes, to 20,500 educational institutions. At the expense of 360 crores taka, from 2011-2012.
