Job searching is very frustrating because rejection wears you down. You start to take it personal and feel inadequate as a person.
Trust me, you are spectacular. Don’t lose confidence in yourself. You have to recognize the mechanics of the system and the unfortunate math at play. It can’t be avoided no matter how much we improve it.
Let’s say that there are 10 candidates for a job that has 1 opening. In this scenario only 1 person will be happy and 9 people will be rejected.
We can make the recruiting process perfect but if more than 2 people are in the running there are more people who lose than win and in many cases there are way more than 2. There will always be more people rejected.
I’m not trying to scare you, but rejection is going to happen so don’t take it personal. Just because you were one of the 9 doesn’t mean you won’t be the 1 when it’s your time.
You need to do everything you can to present yourself better than the rest. Only you can present yourself ahead of the others. Commit to your own success and success will commit to you.
