 Bangladesh Coast Guard media officer Lt. Commander M Hayat Ibn Siddiq said that the 4th regional commander level meeting was held via video conference yesterday morning, reports barta24.com.
 He said the meeting was held in the light of the agreement signed between Bangladesh and the Indian Coast Guard to enhance regional cooperation, develop mutual relations, exchange training and maintain friendly and fraternal relations between the two countries, reports banglanews24.com. He said the meeting was attended by Deputy Director General of Bangladesh Coast Guard Commodore M Anwar Hossain and other senior officials. On behalf of the Indian Coast Guard, representatives from the Regional Headquarters, Kolkata and the Indian Coast Guard Headquarters participated. At this time the representatives of the two countries discussed important issues. The two countries also discussed the role of the Coast Guard.
in preventing human trafficking, smuggling, drug trafficking and illegal fishing at international borders. Besides, mutual cooperation on training issues in the development of professional skills of Coast Guard members of both the countries was discussed.
As a result of the meeting, the Coast Guard of both countries will play a leading role in curbing crime on the water border and developing bilateral relations, he added.
