Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda yesterday said that he wants the Dhaka City Corporation elections to be held in a “fair manner” like that of the 11th general election held on December 30.
The CEC was briefing the returning officers and executive magistrates of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) over the Dhaka city elections at the commission’s Dhaka office.
“The 11th general election was held in a fair manner. We want the Dhaka city corporation elections to be held in a fair manner like that of the national election,” said KM Nurul Huda, reports The Daily Star.
By-polls to DNCC mayoral post is slated for on February 28, when the election to councillor posts in the 36 new wards — 18 under the DNCC and 18 under the Dhaka South City Corporation — is also scheduled.
