DOT Desk: [2] Chinese communities in Bangladesh have launched a programme called “Help Them Stay Home” yesterday to stand by Bangladeshi people to fight against COVID-19, reports TBS News. [3] Chinese Enterprises Association in Bangladesh (CEAB) as the main organizser, together with the co-organiser Linkus Network Technology Bangladesh Ltd (LINKUS) have initiated the programme, said a press release. They signed agreements with three foundation partners, JAAGO Foundation, Lions Club of Dhaka Baily Garden and Own Village Advancement (OVA) at CEAB office at Baridhara in Dhaka.
President of CEAB Lin Weiqiang signed the agreements with representatives of the the three foundations. Other senior management of CEAB and LINKUS were present in the signing ceremony.
About Tk20 lakh was mobilised and delivered to the three foundations for implementation of this programme.
Few hundred Chinese who are now living in different locations of Bangladesh from about 141 Chinese companies contributed to this donation.
This is an expression of good wishes from all Chinese people living in Bangladesh to stand by Bangladesh people to fight against COVID-19 through helping lower income and poor Bangladeshis be equipped to stay home and stay away from virus.
This program has proposed to reach more than 2500 families in different districts of the country.
