A court here has transferred the anti-terrorism case against leader of Myanmar’s insurgent group Arakan Army, Dr. Renin Suye, and three of his accomplices to an anti-terrorism tribunal on Wednesday.
The court has also ordered that they be sent to jail under the Money Laundering Act till having to appear before a court on April 17.
Defence lawyer Mong Thwai Marma said that senior judicial magistrate Mazi Mohammad Mohsin gave the orders after they appeared before the district chief judicial magistrate.
Earlier on August 26, tipped off, a team of army and police personnel conducted a joint drive in Kainda union of Rajasthali upazila and arrested Ong U Yang Rakhain, Jo Su Aung Marma, and Mong Su Aang Marma, for their suspected involvement in the activities of the insurgent group.
In another drive on October 15, Renin Suye was arrested from Islampur in Rajasthali.
Three separate cases had been filed in Rajasthali Police Station in this regard, one each under the anti-terrorism, money laundering and foreigners acts.
