Hossen Sohel: In an effort to reach common people and highlight the development works undertaken by the government, Awami League leaders began an election campaign by road yesterday, reports Financial Express and The Daily Star.
A team of AL leaders led by the Secretary General Obaidul Quader started from the Awami League President’s Office in Dhanmondi at 9:00 am bound for Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar on a two-day trip.
“The Awami League government has done tremendous development work in the country. Our leader has been working for the people and we are travelling to bring this information to the people,” said General Secretary Obaidul Quader before they set off.
“We’ll also urge the leaders and activists to remain united and be prepared to fight together.”
While addressing a road-rally at Eliotganj of Daudkandi upazila in Cumilla, Quader said the candidates having acceptance among people will get nomination from Awami League for the next general election.
Today, Quader is scheduled to attend party programmes in Karnaphuli area, Lohagara upazila, Chakaria town and Ramu.
Previously AL leaders had flown to Sylhet on August 30 and travelled to northern parts of the country by train on September 8 as part of their election campaign.
