An office of the boat symbol built for the Awami League nominated candidate at Chadgram Union, Bheramara, Kushtia was set on fire by miscreants. Two bombs were also detonated in the area right before the arson took place.

According to the head of the burnt election office, the attack took place at 1:30 AM, Thursday. Two impactful bombs went off while the miscreants ransacked the office. Afterwards they set fire to the office of the boat symbol and proudly left the area. This incident has spread considerable panic and terror among the residents of Ward no. 3, Chadgram Union.

Awami League nominated candidate for the Union Council election of Chadgram, Abul Hossain stated, “Gias Uddin Shona, who had recently joined Awami League, wanted the party’s nomination. However, when I was nominated instead, he announced that he would be participating jointly with Abdul Hafiz Tapan who was nominated by JSD. Shona, being envious of me, had threatened my supporters several times. Subsequently, they have burnt down my election office.”

Abul Hossain has filed written complaints with the local returning officer and the Bheramara Police Station.
