DOT Desk: The High Court yesterday granted anticipatory bail to BNP leader Nipun Roy Chowdhury for three months in a case filed in connection with an Awami League-BNP clash in Keraniganj on May 26, reports The Daily star.
The HC asked Nipun, a member of BNP’s central executive committee, to surrender before the lower court concerned in the three months.
The bench of Justice Md Habibul Gani and Justice Ahmed Sohel passed the order following a petition filed by Nipun seeking bail in the case.
Earlier in the day, Nipun Roy, on a wheelchair and with part of her head bandaged, appeared before the HC bench for bail.
The accused BNP leader, who has been admitted in the Islami Bank Hospital, went to the HC by an ambulance in the morning.
