UNB: Hinting at a surprise inclusion in the top post of party president, Bangladesh Nationalist Movement (BNM) on Monday announced a 201-member national executive committee.
The party, however, kept the post of president vacant.
Acting president of this new committee is the former member of parliament of BNP Shah Mohammad Abu Jafar.”A surprise is coming to the post of president. In the next two to four days, a very familiar face will join as the new president,” said BNM secretary general and spokesperson Dr. Md. Shahjahan.He said this at a press conference organized on the occasion of the debut of BNM’s National Executive Committee at Jatiya Press Club.
The spokesperson said they never said that Major Hafiz Uddin Ahmad of BNP is taking the responsibility of the President of this party or is coming or will come. “But you will surely see the surprise.”
He also said that whoever will be the chief of the party will surely be a person with a reputation nationally and internationally.
