Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) thinking about taking help from law, regarding the protection of doctors at their workplaces and clinics.
BMA General Secretary Dr. Ehteshamul Haque Chowdhury called for a press conference to mention about such issues, on Thursday. He said, death of a patient for mistreatment is a very unfortunate event. But, beating up the doctor and vandalizing the hospital place before investigation cannot be acceptable. Such acts by few radical groups create a bad impression toward the doctors nationwide. Therefore, BMA will be expecting instruction from the court.
BMA called for consecutive rallies also on Friday, for such recent events of Central Hospital, since Saturday. Dr. Ehteshamul assured that, not only doctors of Central Hospitals, every doctor in the country will be under their protection. Hence, he urged every employee to rally with him yesterday. Ones who will not join with BMA, will not be receiving any further support from them.
