Bangladesh’s GDP to double in next 8 years: Moshiur

Prime Minister’s Adviser on Economics Affairs Dr Moshiur Rahman has said the Bangladesh’s GDP is increasing day by day and it will be double within next eight years.
“We will no more dependent on foreign aid and we have become a self-reliant nation,” he added. He was addressing the inaugural session of the two-day 55th founding anniversary and second alumni reunion of Department of Statistics of Rajshahi University (RU) at Kazi Nazrul Islam auditorium here today as chief guest.
Dr Moshiur underscored the need for more emphasis on statistics education for skilled human resources in this field. He mentioned that assembling authentic information database and statistics are very important for proper planning to achieve the cherished goals in all national development sectors.
Besides, ensuring flawless statistics is the precondition to take the nation forward in planned way. So, there is no alternative to generate competent workforce to enrich the sector.
