Bangladesh wins award at South Asian Universities Festival

Bangladeshi team led by UGC achieved the ‘Best Performance Award’ at the 9th South Asian Universities Festival (SAUFEST)-2016 held at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University at Lucknow of Uttar Pradesh, India on February 29, 2016.

Dr Nasima Rahman, Director (In-charge), Planning and Development, UGC and Dr Md Fakhrul Islam, Joint-Secretary, UGC were present as Team Manager at the award giving ceremony.

Around 300 students of 10 countries including 25 students from 8
universities (Khulna University, Comilla University, Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University, Bangladesh Textile University, IBAIS University, Eastern University, Daffodil International University and Southeast University) of Bangladesh took part in the Festival.

The Bangladeshi students took part in a number of events in the festival including song, group song, dance, elocution, poster making, photography, debate and clay modeling and achieved the best performance award.

SAUFEST is organised in line with the active collaboration and mutual assistance amongst the South Asian Countries in educational, social, cultural and economic fields.
