Oxford University published that, Bangladesh is at the 2nd place for having the huge numbers of online freelancers. State Minister of Post, Telecommunications & Information Technology, Zunaid Ahmed Palak stated that, there are currently 10 lacs Bangladeshis working online. The government plans to create even 20 lacs more jobs in next 3 years. He said these at the World Economic Forum’s Impact Summit in New York, on Tuesday evening. Jideco Harry executed the event. Rwanda’s Youth & ICT Minister Jean Philbert Sejima, Pakistani ICT State Minister Anusha Rahman Khan and Turkcell CEO Kaan Tarjigu gave their important speeches as well. Many other prominent persons were present at the event. Minister Zunaid Palak also said that, current Government is working on creating 28 hightech-parks. Already, 40% of the public services are given digitally. Which, government aims to increase up to 90% by 2021. Government offices are under intra-networks after 3 years’ running of Info Government-3 & Connected Bangladesh Project.
He added that, 100% national internet coverage is another agenda of 2021. For this, several initiations are planned for next 8 years. Mobile-phone operators, NTTN & ISP everyone was brought under the PPP model.
Zunaid Palak finally talked about the Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s vision for 2021. That is to announce Bangladesh as a digital middle-income country by its 50th anniversary of independence. 4 primary aims in this vision are, human-resource development, internet for everyone, e-governance establishment & industrial progress.
